The Last Ride
It was a late afternoon in early June on top of the mountains of the east. Rainy.
It was the day you took home your former other half. The former king of the hotstreet already ripped of its glory: its lone throne replaced by felt cushion, the topsecretgold facade already covered by hard plastic, its roar became nothing but a monotonous hum and its swiftness already gone.
I remember how we hugged each other and cried when you broke the news. I knew it was your most prized possession. It was something you built with much bitterness from a previous relationship and with much love that had to be diverted.
I remember that special night you decided to put another throne for a queen. It was the night I decided to leave a young single woman's shoes to be fit for a royalty. We were yelling coffee conversation over the roar of the engines while zigzaging our way among lesser cars in the highway. You fed me with crispy pata, remember? And you introduced me to the other kings of the jungle. I, having a fear of rollercoasters, should have been terrified but I slept like a baby on our way home.
It was the last ride; our last ride together as a happy couple. We'd have other fun times later on. But it was the day when another one of your secrets have been revealed. I should've let it pass. I shouldn't have deprived you of your other possessions, knowing that I was among the reasons we were having that last ride on your most prized car. We could've just enjoyed that silent dinner on top of the mountain; your beer, my juice, our conversation and our then unborn baby. But the consequences of my earlier actions have ruined what we have just fixed up.
It was a long, silent ride home. Your home, actually. But I knew then that our hearts spoke in that silence. We never got tired of conversing, right?
I still feel the loss.

Lia's Last Hurrah
Two Saturdays ago, we gathered up and threw Lia this bridal shower, which Och&Nica have successfully organized. Our resident chef con bartender brought a waiter and made just some of the most fabulous-tasting cocktails we ever tasted. MORE PLEASE!!!
Anyway, the most anticipated part of the party, of course, was the strippers' performance. We actually just paid for one but got a "freebie." It was so funny and scary at the same time. Will post the other pics soon.
